A disgraced former LAPD detective is roped back into working as a private eye to investigate the murder of an eccentric television star’s wife in Last Looks, to save her publishing company, a young editor goes on a wild book tour with a drunk has-been author in Best Sellers, a buddy comedy that follows the misadventures of two former Army Rangers paired against their will on the road trip of a lifetime in Dog, a chimney sweep teams up with the monster to find out if stars do exist in Poupelle Of Chimney Town and The Godfather’s 50th anniversary.

The plot: Charlie Waldo (Charlie Hunnam) is an ex-LAPD superstar who left the force and now lives a life of simplicity and solitude deep in the woods. Alistair Pinch (Mel Gibson) is an eccentric actor who spends his days drunk on the set of his TV show.

When Pinch’s wife is found dead, he is the prime suspect and Waldo wants to investigate what happened. The case finds Waldo contending with gangsters, Hollywood executives and pre-school teachers, all in pursuit of clearing Pinch’s name… or confirming his guilt.

The plot: Lucy Standbridge (Aubrey Plaza) has inherited her father’s publishing house, and the ambitious would-be editor has nearly sunk it with failing titles. She discovers she is owed a book by Harris Shaw (Michael Caine), a reclusive, cantankerous, booze-addled author who originally put the company on the map decades earlier.

In a last-ditch effort to save the company, Lucy and Harris release his new book and embark on a book tour from hell that changes them both in ways they didn’t expect.

Dog

The plot: Army Ranger Briggs (Channing Tatum) and Lulu (a Belgian Malinois dog) buckle into a 1984 Ford Bronco and race down the Pacific Coast in hopes of making it to a fellow soldier’s funeral on time.

Along the way, they’ll drive each other completely crazy, break a small handful of laws, narrowly evade death, and learn to let down their guards in order to have a fighting chance of finding happiness.

Poupelle of Chimney Town

The plot: The story of young Lubicchi living among the thick smoke from the chimneys of his isolated town, yearning to see the “stars” to know the truth his father always told him about.

One Halloween night he meets Poupelle, a man made of garbage, and together they look to the sky as their adventure begins.

The Godfather 50th Anniversary
